Carol Martens, OTR/L (Occupational Therapist)
Carol has spent the last sixteen years practicing occupational therapy at Drew Memorial Hospital. She received her Occupational Therapy Degree from the University of Central Arkansas in December 1995.
Carol has practiced in a wide variety of settings, including the hospital, schools, outpatient, and home health. She has provided therapy to both adult and pediatric populations. She has provided therapy services to adults diagnosed with stroke, Parkinson’s, post orthopedic and neurological surgeries, traumatic brain injury, arthritic conditions, work injuries, and cardiopulmonary conditions. Carol’s emphasis is in the area of pediatrics where she has treated children with special needs with a variety of diagnoses, such as, sensory integration dysfunction, delay in sensorimotor skills, PDD, Autism, cerebral palsy, handwriting difficulties, visual perceptual/visual motor delay, ADD/ADHD, developmental delay, fine motor delay, learning disabilities, Downs Syndrome, and other genetic disorders.
Carol is married to Jerry and has two sons, Gabe and Michael. Carol is an active member of First Baptist Church in Monticello. Carol enjoys exercise, gardening, and photography. She and her husband enjoy attending their sons’ sporting events.
