Did You Know that May 11 – 17th is National Hospital Week?

This week, hospitals across the US will celebrate National Hospital Week.  Here at Drew Memorial, we set this time aside to recognize the hard work and dedication of our staff.  This is a time to acknowledge their importance and to celebrate their commitment, not only to our facility but also to our community.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Bringing The Power Of Care To The Community”.  Too often, we take for granted our hospital, it’s workers and their contributions to our community.  They truly bring the “power of care” home to those of us here that need it.  They deliver quality patient care around the clock, day after day.  They are here in our time of need on a scale that is hard to imagine.  These are the people who experience joy with you when your baby is born, who mourn with the loss of your loved one, and who celebrate the victories of your recoveries.  Our children are in the same kindergarten class, we sit by you in Sunday school, our son’s play baseball together and our parents are neighbors to yours; we know you and we care not only for you, but also about you.

Not only do we ask you to stop and take a minute to recognize the healthcare workers in our community this week, we also want to take our hats off to you.  We are proud to be a part of this community and we thank you for all that you do for us.  It is our hope that together we can continue “Bringing The Power Of Care To The Community”.  When we support each other, our possibilities are endless.
