Did You Know….

Bone Densitometry is offered in Monticello?

Drew Memorial’s Radiology department is now offering bone density testing.  We have recently purchased a G.E. Prodigy Pro bone densitometer.  This unit aids in the detection and treatment of osteoporosis and other bone related diseases.  It will not only offer physicians a diagnosis, but may even prevent further bone loss by receiving treatment at the first signs of osteoporotic changes.  We feel this testing will benefit women greatly, and we encourage anyone who would like to know more about our service to ask their physician for more information concerning bone density testing.

Osteoporosis is a complex multifectional disease that may progress silently for decades; there may be no symptoms until fractures occur.  Almost one out of every two women and one out of six men will suffer an osteoporotic fracture in their lifetime.  Up to 1.5 Million fractures a year are attributed to osteoporosis.

Drew Memorial Hospital is committed to bringing our community the latest in technology to help serve our customers.  Our hospital offers a wide variety of services including Diagnostic x-ray, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography, and now Bone Densitometry.  If you would like to see one or all of our services that we can provide please feel free to call and I will be glad to give you a tour.
