What is Drew Memorial Home Health Care?

Many treatments previously limited to the hospital are now being administered in the home. Our Home Health Program has a professional staff of Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses, Home Health Aides, Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapists and a Clerical Support Team. This team of professionals provide care under a plan of treatment ordered by the patient's physician and all care is done in the comfort of the patient's home.

Our program provides Home Health Services in a 35-mile radius of Drew Memorial Hospital. This area includes Drew, Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Desha and Lincoln counties in Southeast Arkansas. Medicare, Medicaid, and most Private Insurance companies cover Home Health Services.

Home Health Care - Explained

Drew Memorial Home Health Care is a service that encompasses a wide range of health and social services. Your needs are provided for in your home, to recovering, disabled, chronically ill or terminally ill persons who need medical, nursing, social, or therapeutic treatment or assistance with activities of daily living.

Personal Care services are provided for patients who need assistance with personal hygiene, activities of daily living and assistance in housekeeping.

ElderChoices Services

Homemaker services enable the Aide to go into the patient's home and assist with basic upkeep and management of the home and household assistance such as laundry, essential shopping, errands and meal preparations.

Respite services can be provided by an Aide as a relief for the caregiver of a qualified patient. This can be very advantageous for both the caregiver as well as the patient.

Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS) is a service that provides a 24-hour electronic alarm system that enables the elderly, infirm, or homebound individual to secure immediate help in the event of physical, emotional or environmental emergencies.

Home Delivered Meals is another service provided by Drew Memorial Hospital. The Home Health and Dietary departments team up to provide hot meals that are delivered on a daily basis to qualified patients in the 35 mile service area. If the patient requires a special diet, the Drew Memorial Hospital Home Delivered Meal program can meet that need.

All the ElderChoices services above are paid for by the Arkansas Medicaid Program and also can be received through private pay.
