Vonda Russell, Business Office Director has been employed with Drew Memorial Hospital since 1996.  She is a native of Warren, Arkansas and a graduate of Warren High School.  Currently, she is pursuing her Business Management degree.  Additionally, she is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) where she serves as chair of the Newsletter Committee for the Arkansas Chapter and as a member of the Sponsorship Committee.

Being actively involved in the Monticello community, she is a member of the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) at Grace Christian Academy where her son attends.  Vonda and her family attend Oak Grove A/G where her husband is a member of the Board of Trustees and she serves as the Women’s Ministries Coordinator.vrussell@drewmemorial.org

 

Tommy Ashley, M.S.P.T., Director of Rehab Services

Date of hire January 8, 1996.  He has heavy experience in orthopaedics, sports medicine, neurological disorders, wound care, and pediatrics.  Tommy also has more than 10 years of experience in outpatient, inpatient, home health, and school-based physical therapy and more than nine years in rehab management.rehabteam@drewmemorial.org

Barbara Barnes (RN), is our Infection Control Director. She has been employed at Drew Memorial Hospital since 1989. Barbara is a lifetime resident of Monticello. She attended Monticello High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas @ Monticello in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and in 1990 with an Associate Degree in Nursing.

Barbara is a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology (APIC) and Case Management Society of America. She is an associate member of the Monticello Junior Auxiliary. She is also a past board member of the Monticello Junior Auxiliary and Drew County American Cancer Society. Barbara is a certified childbirth educator (CCE) and a CPR instructor. She has successfully completed PALS, NALS, & ACLS.

Barbara is a member of Pauline Baptist Church. She has three children: Josh, Jade & Jessica. Barbara enjoys spending time with her children and likes to read, dance, swim and work in her yard.bbarnes@drewmemorial.org

 

 

Karon Beavers, RN, is the Director of Home Health services.  She has been employed at Drew Memorial Hospital since 1977. Karon was born and raised in Lake Village and graduated from Lakeside High School. She then attended Arkansas A&M college (now UAM) where she graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1971.

Karon has been Director of Home Health at Drew Memorial since 1985. She has been very active in the HomeCare Association of Arkansas and has served several consecutive terms on the HCAA Board in various capacities, and presently serves as President of the HomeCare Association of Arkansas.  In July 2006, she was appointed by Governor Mike Huckabee to serve a
3-year term on the Home Health Care Service Agency Advisory Council.

Karon is a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church in Monticello.  She has 1 child, Amanda, who is a Special Education Teacher in the Bryant School District.

Cherie Brown (RRT), Respiratory Care Services Director, is a tenured team member at Drew Memorial. Ms. Brown has been with us since 1980. Ms. Brown received her A.S. degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She is a member of First Baptist Church here in Monticello. She is also a member of the Arkansas Society Respiratory Care and American Association Respiratory Care. She is a CPR Instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor and a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Regional Trainer.

Rusty Bryant, IT Director of Drew Memorial Hospital, is a native of New Edinburg, Arkansas. He Recieved a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Arkansas at Monticello. He is also the HIPAA Security Officer at Drew Memorial Hospital. rbryant@drewmemorial.org

 

Bob Erstine(P.D.), Director of Pharmaceutical Services, has been part of the management team at Drew Memorial Hospital since 1991. Mr. Erstine received his Pharmacy Degree from the University of Houston, Houston, Texas. Mr. Erstine is member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pine Bluff. Mr. Erstine is also an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, the Arkansas Hospital Pharmacists Association, and Duck's Unlimited. Mr. Erstine is also associated with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy as a Clinical Instructor.

David Gossman B.S.R.T,®,(CT), Radiology Services Director, is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he graduated from Pine Bluff High School. He received a B.S. in Radiography from the University of Central Arkansas at Conway in 1997. He also holds an Assoc. degree of Applied Science in Elect. Engineering Technology. He is a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. David has enjoyed working at Drew Memorial Hospital since 1997.

Nealie Leggett, Dietary Director, has been with Drew Memorial since 1992. Ms. Leggett received her certification in Dietary Management from Penn State University. She is a member of the Certified Dietary Manager Association and she attends Pauline Baptist Church in Monticello, Arkansas.

Carole Neeley (RN) Education Director joined our team in 1987.  Carole is a lifetime resident of Monticello.  She attended Drew Central High School and graduated from the University of Monticello in 1986 with an Associate Degree in Nursing.  She is a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and is a certified Childbirth Educator, CPR Instructor, Breastfeeding Educator, Safe Sitter Instructor, Staff Development Coordinator, and Diabetic Educator. 

Carole is the Program Coordinator for our Diabetes Self Management Training Program which is an ADA Accredited Program. She represents our team on the Drew County Hometown Health Improvement Coalition. She also serves as our facilitator for the Arkansas Rural Hospital Program and coordinates community support groups and education. 

Carole is a member of the Ladelle Baptist Church.  She has one child, Jordan who attends Drew Central Schools.  She enjoys playing with Jordan, riding horses, barrel racing and visiting with friends. educationdir@drewmemorial.org

Ricky Tucker, Maintenance Director, joined our team in 1993. He is licensed by the Arkansas Board of Electrical Examiners. He is a Certified Medical Gas Systems Installer, a Certified Technician Type 1, 111 Hydrochorofluorocarbons. He is a member of the Arkansas Association for Hospital Engineering. He has a diverse background in design and construction.
