Foundation Launches 2011 Campaign
1/18/2011
The Southeast Arkansas Health Foundation recently launched a campaign to raise funds for furnishings and equipment at Drew Memorial Hospital. Funds raised in 2011 will help fund new beds for the Intensive Care Unit, as well as furnishing for the 41 new patient rooms and Cancer Treatment Center currently under construction. The estimated cost for all three projects exceeds $760,000.
“This is a massive undertaking for the Foundation,” stated Memorie Dickson, director. “We see this as a multi-year campaign. Our board was thrilled to present DMH with $100,000 for the digital mammography equipment last year, and they are excited about these new projects.”
Fundraising efforts will begin with the Foundation’s first $2,500 Drawdown scheduled for Saturday, February 19th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Monticello Country Club. This fun, Mardi Gras themed event will be highlighted by live entertainment by Whitewater, great food, and a chance to win $2,500 and other items including a Carnival Cruise for two.
Tickets for the event are $100 per couple. In addition, raffle tickets for the cruise are available for $25 each. “A strict limit of 250 tickets for the drawdown will be sold, so I encourage everyone to order early,” added Dickson. More information about the event is located on the Foundation's tab on this website.
