Drew Memorial Hospital Receives Quality Achievement Award from the Governor

Drew Memorial Hospital was one of 15 organizations recognized statewide in a presentation ceremony in Little Rock on Monday night, October 19th, at the Doubletree Hotel. Drew Memorial was the only organization to receive the Quality Achievement Award presented by Governor Mike Beebe. The award ceremony includes 4 award levels for Performance Excellence (in descending order of qualifications): the

Governor’s Award, the Achievement Award, the Commitment Award, and the Challenge Award.

The Governor’s Quality Award process is based on the Malcolm Baldrige criteria and consists of 4 levels of excellence in 7 different categories. For the Quality Achievement Award, the hospital had to demonstrate systematic processes at each level of the criteria, in the areas of Leadership; Strategic Planning; Customer and Markets; Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management; Workforce Focus; Process Management; and Results focused on creating value for the customer.

Drew Memorial is very proud of its dedicated healthcare team. This award verifies the high level of commitment to excellence by all its employees, the Medical Staff, and the Board of Directors. The feedback received from this award process will serve to identify areas of improvement for the hospital to focus on as it moves forward toward the next level of excellence.

Drew Memorial’s goal is always to provide safe quality care for all its patients, to be an employer of excellence, to focus on our customers, and to be financially stable. The values and concepts inherent in the award process help to orient DMH directions and efforts toward these goals
